"Prevention is better than cure"

Eye defects in children, if not detected early and treated appropriately, would lead to permanent loss of vision and blindness.

Around 4% of the school going children have undetected visual defects, which neither the children nor the parents nor the teachers are aware of.

The concept of screening the children for visual defects was initiated by Sankara Eye Hospitals as early as early 90’s. This programme was perfected year on year. Now, it is being launched as a full-fledged preventive eye care programme for children under the title “Rainbow”.
